I am an anaesthetist and current clinical lead for eHealth/CCIO in NHS Fife. I am not frightened by code (except where it uses whitespace-as-syntax), but I am frightened by the volume and complexity of clinical information that we deal with on a daily basis. Can we do better in terms of using technology to manage it ? I believe so. We’ve been saying for years that the NHS has to embrace open standards and encourage our bright young technologists of the next generation into healthcare if we are going to make a dent in the problem. I want to help make that happen.
